Two decades ago, King impulsively embarked on an adventurous journey to Panama, drawn by the allure of the infamous Darien Gap. In this remote, perilous terrain, he met the Embera Tribe. As an outsider, he was naturally filled with curiosity, intrigue, and joy.

King was fortunate to bring the first of its kind, a digital video recorder. When he flipped the LCD screen around, the people saw themselves for the first time in this “new technology”. They could not believe their eyes.

He made them a promise that one day he would return. As the years went by, King had an insatiable curiosity and a deep longing to reconnect with this tribe. Finally,  he decided to fulfill his promise to return, … almost 20 years later. Naturally, he brought their pictures and videos with him.

So he set out with a small film crew, facing uncertainties about the tribe’s existence and location.  What happened once he arrived in Panama two decades later is the story that is told in this film, Bancoco.
