Horizontal Films is a film production company in Spain created in 2023 by Rose Kowalski, a filmmaker who has worked in international co-production for over 20 years. The current slate of projects encompasses both fiction and documentary feature film production, and bespoke digital content for clients. The team has been built with a unique combination of international co-production experience and 100% locally grown talent.

CEO Rose Kowalski: Filmmaker, Producer, Team Builder and Strategist. British by birth and family history, however I have spent more years off the island than on it.

Co-directed ‘Fragile Ground’ that was awarded Best Photography and Best Experimental Film in the Documentary Challenge Awards at Hotdocs.

In charge of Post-Production Rose has helped numerous international co-productions become prize-winners including ‘The Click Trap’, ‘Balomania’, McCurry The Pursuit of Color’, The Secret of Doctor Grinberg’, ‘Con el viento’, ‘Me llamo Violeta’, ‘Time Thieves’, ‘Freightened’, and ‘Google and the World Brain’ all produced by Polar Star Films.
